Raviraja V Acharya MD, DNB, FRCP (Edin) is currently Professor and Head, Depart¬ment of Medicine, Kasturba Medical College, MAHE, Manipal. During his postgraduation, need for the concise point of care book was strongly felt (in the era of no smartphones or internet!), and with the guidance and contribution from Dr Sudha Vidyasagar, he was instrumental in compilation and publication of the earlier editions or versions of this book. He has keen interest in application of technology in practice of medicine.
