This book covers all the competencies in psychiatry as per the Competency Based Undergraduate Curriculum prescribed by National Medical Commission for Indian medical graduates. The text has been written as a conceptual framework and in a lucid manner to make it more interesting and engrossing for the undergraduate students. Some di?cult to understand topics such as psychoanalysis, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, personality psychology have been written in such a manner that makes it easy to understand and memorise.

RK Meher MD (Psychiatry) is currently Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Burla, Odisha. He completed his MBBS from Medical College Kolkata, West Bengal, and MD in psychiatry from Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati, Assam. He finds immense pleasure in taking classes of undergraduate students and thoroughly understands their needs and lacunae. He has been taking lectures in psychiatry and clinical classes of MBBS and nursing students for the last 5 years.
