Joydeb Roychowdhury MBBS, MD, FICOG, FICMCH is Dean (Principal) and Director Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, ESI-Postgraduate Institute of Medical Science and Research and ESIC Medical College, Joka, Kolkata, West Bengal. He is Fellow, ICMCH (2007) and FICOG (2013). He has been an examiner for many undergraduate and postgraduate medical examinations under Calcutta University and other universities. He is reviewer for Journal of Indian Medical Association (JIMA) and Indian Journal of Public Health. He is trained in oncology, endoscopic surgery and infertility. He has to his credit more than 30 papers published in national and international journals He has been a speaker at many state and national conferences. He has special interest in obstetric care of the community. His work on low dose intravenous MgSO, is quoted as a reference in the chapter on eclampsia in Williams Obstetrics, 23rd edn. He is the author of the companion volume Postgraduate Gynecology.
