He has also served as Head, Department of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Hamdard University, New Delhi. He has more than 50 years of experience in teaching and research. His fields of research are natural products, medicinal chemistry and phytochemistry. He has published 776 research papers in national and international journals; presented 205 research papers at national and international conferences and symposiums; authored 17 research books and textbooks; and contributed chapters in seven international books.
