Dr. Ciddi Veeresham has 15 years of experience in teaching and research on Medicinal Plant Biotechnology and Pharmacy. He is conducting research work on secondary metabolites from plant tissue cultures, microbial biotransformation and standardisation of herbal medicines. He supervised 4 Ph.Ds. and published 40 research papers in national and international journals. He has been awarded Indian Drug Manufacturers Associations best research paper award. Dr. Ciddi received funding for his research projects from the DBT, DST, UGC and AICTE. He has written many review articles as well as book chapters. He is also recipient of DST young research project fellow to work on hairy root cultures of Coleus forskohlii. He got a DBT overseas associateship from DBT, Govt. of India to work with Prof. M.L. Shuler, Cornell University, USA (1994-95) on Tissue Cultures of Taxus sp. He also got a UNESCO BAC Fellowship (1998-99) and PDF in Cornell University to work on the Cell Cultures of Neem. He delivered guest lectures in a number of universities and a resource person for QIP programme for pharmacy teacher in Pharmacognosy. He completed his B.Pharm. and Ph.D. degree from Kakatiya University, Warangal and his M.Pharm. at Birla Institute of Technology, all in Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is an executive member of Indian Society of Pharmacognosy and Association of Pharmacy Teachers of India, Editorial Board Member of Indian Journal of Natural Products, Member of New York Academy of Sciences, USA and Member of several Professional Associations.
