The first edition of this book was published in 1996 and since then it has been reprinted eight times. This establishes the popularity of the book and hence an attempt has been made to update the information.
The second edition has undergone highly significant changes in terms of the subject matter, treatment of the topics and formatting, so as to make it more useful to students and teachers. Description of few diseases has been added to keep pace with the time. Liberal addition of figures will facilitate the learning objective. Glossary is a new addition that will serve as a handy compilation of definitions of common terms. The question bank has been greatly expanded.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.
