Susanta Kumar Pal MSc, PhD is Professor, Department of Agricultural Chemistry and Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya (BCKV), Mohanpur, WB. Besides this book, he has written more than 50 original scientific papers and two well-known books on analytical methods of soil and plant analysis, Soil Sampling and Methods of Analysis and Methods of Soil and Plant Analysis. He received his MSc in agricultural chemistry and soil science (1986) and PhD (1989) from BCKV. He started his career as soil analyst at Potash Research Institute of India, Gurgaon,Haryana. He has been actively engaged in teaching and research as a senior faculty member in the discipline of agricultural chemistry and soil science at BCKV since 1992.
