Extension education programmes are being undertaken all over the world. In spite of the importance given to these programmes, many people are reluctant of unable to accept change.
A close scrutiny of the constraints in these programmes shows the absence of understanding about the concepts, philosophy, objectives and method of working with the rural people among the field workers. The importance of extension education for rural development made it imperative to introduce extension education courses in the educational curriculum. It ishoped that this book will be helpful to extension educators and students in understanding this subject and bringing the principles of extension education into practice.
S.V. Supe PhD is currently Professor, Head and Department of Extension Education, and Associate Dean at Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola. During his career he was closely associated with undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and guided MSc and PhD students. In addition he conducted extension research projects, training programmes and gave on the spot guidance to field workers. He contributed 100 review and research papers to journals and wrote 14 books related to extension education.
