Dr. Gurmel Singh, Director, CSWCRTI, Dehradun has more than three decades of experience in the field of Soil and Water Conservation, Watershed Management and Dry Farming. He also served for three years as Assistant Commissioner in the Ministry of Agriculture. As a leader he has prepared a number of Model Watershed Management Projects for different States of the country.He obtained specialised training in soil and Water Conservation from USA, Egypt and represented India twice in FAO Expert Consultation. He served for five years with the World Bank, and assisted Sokoto Agricultural and Rural Development Authority, Nigeria. Dr. Gurmel Singh, Mr. C. Venkataramanan and Mr. G. Sastry are recipients of Dr. P.B. Sarkar Endowment Prize for the triennium (1980-83) for outstanding contribution in the field of Soil and Water Conservation. Mr. C. Venkataramanan, Senior Technical Officer has more than three decades of experience in the field of Soil and Water Conservation. He has done research on erodibility studies and nutrient recycling in bluegum, shola and black wattle in the Nilgiri Hills. He visited the Philippines in May 1990 as an Indian delegate under ICAR-PCARRD work plan in the field of Agriculture extension. Er. G. Sastry, Principal Scientist, has served as Head of the Division of Watershed Hydrology and Engineering during 1980-86. FAO of UN awarded Fellowship to Sastry in 1988 in Soil Erosion Modelling in Agro-forestry at Colorado State University, USA. Er. B.P. Joshi, Scientist (SG) has more than fifteen years of experience in the field of Soil and Water Conservation (Engineering). FAO of UN awarded Fellowship to Joshi in 1990 in Soil Erosion Modelling at the University of Minnesota, USA,
