This has been written to meet the curriculum requirements of veterinary students of undergraduate, postgradute and doctoral courses. The book consists of two sections. Cat and Dog Nutrition is presented in Part I (Chapters 1 to 5). Wild Animal Nutrition is presented in Part II in 14 chapters (Chapters 6 to 19).

DV Reddy is Professor and Head, Department of Animal Nutrition, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research, Puducherry. Dr. Reddy is the author of Textbooks on Animal Nutrition subject for UG and PG students. Earlier he was at Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (Hyderabad, AP), Tirupati Campus and worked in AICRP on Pigs, College of Veterinary Science and Regional Agricultural Research Station. He was inducted into research in LWY pigs at Tirupati, AP, and in buffaloes at IVRI, Izatnagar, UP, by Dr. D. Anjaneya Prasad and Dr U.B. Singh, respectively. Recognizing his contributions towards the advancement of the profession, Dr. Reddy was conferred with 'Fellow Membership diploma (FUWAI)' by United Writers' Association, Chennai in 1998, Fellow of National Academy of Veterinary Sciences (India) (FNAVS) in 2006 and Fellow of the Animal Nutrition Association of (FAÑA) in 2006. His biography was published in Marquis Who's Who in the World (14th edition) first time in 1997 and updated in the latest 31st edition (2014) for his intellectual and creative accomplishments.
