Meharban Singh is former Professor and Head, Department of Pediatrics, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He has been working in the field of pediatrics for the last 50 years after receiving specialized training in neonatology at Hammersmith Hospital, London, during 1970 71. He established the first WHO Collaborating Center for Training and Research in Newborn Care in South-East Asia region. He has authored 15 books on various aspects of pediatrics and neonatology which are characterized by clarity of expression, thoroughness of contents and ease of readability. He has served as a WHO consultant and MCH Advisor to several developing countries and Director, Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health,Kabul,Afghanistan, during 1979 83.He was invited by the American Academy of Pediatrics as an International Visiting Professor for a lecture tour of USA and Canada.
