Harbans Lal PhD, FACBI, FSOBSI, FIAO joined as Lecturer, Department of Biochemistry, Medical College (now Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences), Rohtak, Haryana, and retired from there as Senior Professor in 2009, after nearly 34 years of teaching to medical, dental and nursing students. Thereafter, he joined as Senior Professor and Head, Department of Biochemistry, Maharaja Agrasen Medical College, Agroha (Hisar), from where he retired in 2017. During the period he had supervised a large number of PhD and MD students, written 9 textbooks and published more than 150 research papers in various international and national journals. He is also a peer reviewer of several international and national research journals. He has also been a visiting faculty at Louisiana State University Medical Centre, New Orleans, USA; Department of Biosciences, MD University, Rohtak; and College of Pharmacy, Pt BD Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak. He is a life member of several scientific bodies, including Nutrition Society of India, Association of Clinical Biochemists of India, International Federation of Clinical Chemistry, Society of Biological Chemists of India, Society of Biological Scientists of India, and Laboratory Animal Scientists Association. He is also a recipient of several international and national awards, including Nutrition Society of India’s Young Scientists Award, World Health Organization Fellowship Award, Fellowship of the Association of Clinical Biochemists of India, Fellowship of the Society of Biological Scientists of India, Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital Oration Award, and Best Teacher Award for Excellence in Teaching from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak. Ashuma Sachdeva MBBS, MD is currently Professor, Department of Biochemistry, PGIMS, Rohtak, teaching Biochemistry to MD, MBBS, BDS, Nursing, MLT and other Paramedical students. She has supervised several postgraduate students, and has to her credit 25 research papers published in various international and national journals of repute, besides contributing a chapter in a book. She has also written two textbooks. She is also a life member of several scientific bodies, including Association of Medical Biochemists of India and Association of Clinical Biochemists of India.
