Management Of Acute And Chronic Diarrhea In Children, Last few years have seen revolutionary changes in management of diarrhea in children. Ultimate replacement of conventional WHO ORS by an hypo-osmolar ORS after years of-worldwide research; recent discovery of role of zinc in acute and persistent diarrhea and continuing search for and additions of newer anti secretory drugs and probiotics in the Indian pharmocopia has helped to propagate these changes. Even in the field of chronic diarrhea, wider availability of serological tests and duodenal biopsy for diagnosis of celiac disease has helped to diagnose this condition early in larger number of children. Thus it was felt necessary to revise this book to incorporate latest changes. The whole of text has been carefully reviewed and the available new knowledge has been incorporated within the existing format. Emphasis has largely been in giving practical guidelines, incorporating the latest advances. A few references have also been added.
