Physiology is a scientific study of the vital functions including growth and development and functioning of different tissues organs and systems. It helps in gaining a rational view of the pathological processes. For a student in the field of medical and allied health sciences it is important to know the subject understand and learn the facts and retain the information to be able to reproduce it in the exami- nations. With this view in mind an attempt has been made to provide all essential aspects of the subject into a simple form and frame which is mainly meant for paramedical students BPMT. The topics though covered in brief include all important parameters. The text is interspersed with sharp clear and descriptive figures. Flowcharts and tables are incorporated where necessary. At the end of each topic review questions have been given for self- assessment.
