It is primarily intended to be a textbook for first year undergraduate students of engineering and technology. It is designed as per the syllabi requirements of most of the Indian universities especially as prescribed by Uttarakhand Technical Punjab Technical University HP University Anna University and UP Technical University. The text is covered in 15 chapters and In each chapter different types of Important problems have been discussed. Question bank is given at the end of the text. Some problems have been discussed in different manner for easy understanding by the students such as in analytical chemistry liquid crystals chemical kinetics water chemistry spectroscopy and lubricants. The information provided will be also be helpful In enhancing the basic concepts to the readers.
Ajay Singh is Associate Professor and Head Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science Uttaranchal Institute of Technology Dehradun. He Is also Controller of Exam and MR of UIT. He obtained MSc (chemistry) from CCS University Meerut and completed his PhD In chemistry (polymers) from HNB Garhwal University Srinagar Uttarakhand. He also obtained the PG Diploma In Pulp and Paper Technology from FRI Dehradun. He also qualified Lead Auditor courses of Environment Management System (ISO 14001) and Quality Management System (ISO 9001) from CII Chandlgarh. Dr Singh has about 9 years teaching and 4 years Industrial experience. He has been eaching to undergraduate (BSc/Btech) and postgraduate (Msc - chemistry pharmaceutical chemistry biochemistry and biotechnology) students. He has guided several postgraduate students and currently research scholars are doing PhD under his guidance. He has presented several papers in national and International conferences.
