The aim of this book is to provide a well-illustrated concise text which tries to explain as well as to inform at the same time covering the subject matter necessary for passing examinations. A proportion of the material presented in this book may seem to some teachers superfluous to the needs of nurses. The text of this nature should provide information for the more interested student who wants to know. Now that it is becoming accepted that the teaching of Anatomy and Physiology should not be confined to the preliminary part of the course but should extend throughout the training period there will be an increasing number of student nurses.
